What!! I cannot believe that we are already talking about the 8th gen. gaming systems, and the 7th havent even hit their prime yet!!! mean what else can they do that hasnt already been done, unless they make it look absolutely REAL, and I honestly dont see that happening for another 10-20 years.

Console manufacturers start designing a new console literally 2-3 weeks after they launch the previous one. It takes that long to deside what you are going to do with the next system, what tech you are going to put in, how expensive that tech will be, etc.
Sony is going to release another system in 2010 or 2011, just to keep pace with MS. Remember Moore’s Law. By 2010, for the same $400 price point, MS will be able to release a machine roughly 10 times as powerful as the 360. Sony will have to release a new system just to keep pace in the graphics war.
But graphics is not the way to go anymore. Graphics really aren’t limited by technology now. They are limited by budget.
