Microsoft’s latest preview of the production of project Natal (or Xbox 720 as we know it) gives the strongest hint yet that it will be predominantly motion based like the Wii. The preview emphasizes the absence of controllers and blatently compares itself to the mainstream Nintendo super-power. So what’s the matter Microsoft - ran out of ideas and decided to clone the premium console on the market?! or Do you actually feel you can reclaim the Console crown with this latest mess, no doubt plagued with glitches and breakdown issues. Either way it does seem Microsoft is going head on with Nintendo, with the 720 planned to be released in 2010. Am I not the only one questioning why Microsft don’t just stick to what their good at and upgrade the 360 console for hard core gaming? Instead we are going to have two very similar consoles on the market - limiting are gaming options? This is just my opinion as a NintendoPortal Columnist and I would be very interested to see what other Gamers think?…………

The news is all over the Internet, but it doesn’t make any sense. I’m pretty sure the companies are already thinking ahead. But, why would they release new game consoles when two of the three (the PS3 and Xbox 360) aren’t even profitable yet?
*I understand if Nintendo is already working on a Wii 2 because the Wii is already profitable and Nintendo might want to beat Microsoft and Sony to the market with the next generation of consoles.
