When my 360 died I went straight to the internet trying to find a good guide and here is what I found.

There are MANY guides out there now. Ever since this problem started becoming common people started writing guides on how to fix it yourself. The problem was that half of the guides either ****** or were to complicated. I bought about ten guides over a course of a month and tried them all. Almost none of them fixed my Xbox completely and some even made the condition worse! At one point I would get the RROD 3 or 4 times a week. It took me a while but I finally found some decent guides and ended up fixing my Xbox in about an hour or two.

Since I found out these guides I figured that other people would be grateful to have these in their possession. I know that these guides have helped all of my friends that got that dreaded red light of death and decided to put up my own review website.
